Board of Directors

President - Bruce Gentry

I am married to Marsha Gentry, we have two daughters (one with epilepsy) and three granddaughters.  I am currently employed at Cigna.

Vice President - Will Perry

My girlfriend Jackie had been dealing with a life of seizures for years before we met, but it did not take me long to learn about the problems one has to overcome in a life with epilepsy. Because of these experiences, it helps me and the board be able to guide the Foundation in its mission to help those affected by epilepsy.

Secretary - Amy Burba

I am an Occupational Therapist at Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation and the Director of Outpatient Services.  In my work I frequently encounter patients and families impacted by epilepsy.  I am a Hixson resident and enjoy spending time with my husband and 4 children.

Treasurer - Tracy Ashmore

I grew up having seizures. The first one was noticed when I was 6 years old. I ended up having brain surgery in 1987. I had one seizure the day after surgery, that was my last one. I am now married, own a business and enjoy traveling and seeing new places.

Alex Tainsh

I joined the board of directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of SETN in 2016 and currently work as the Marketing Manager for the Chattanooga Lookouts minor league baseball team. In my spare time I enjoy running, following my favorite sports teams and enjoying all the great things Chattanooga has to offer.

Allison Cohen

I'm a Chattanooga native who recently moved back to the area after spending five years in Florida. I have a BS in biology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where I was involved with numerous organizations. I am ecstatic to be back in the Scenic City with my husband, Ian and daughter, Ella. Ella is my inspiration for joining the board. Now 9 years, old, Ella was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was 6 months old and received care at T.C. Thompson's Children Hospital. I want to help drive the Foundations mission, vision and value.

She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from DeSales University and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University. Before Tech, she worked in communications at Lehigh's Industrial and Systems Engineering Department and in the university development offices at Immaculata University and Pratt Institute. Amanda's husband, Danny, works in student affairs and met while they were both working at Lehigh. They have a fur child, Sonic, who is a six-year-old Pomeranian.

Jeni Yielding

I am a pediatric occupational therapist who loves hiking, running, & time with friends/family.  My journey with Epilepsy began when I had a couple of seizures when I was 17y/o (which were fully controlled on meds). My son, Satchel, was diagnosed with Epilepsy at 6 years of age and we still struggle for full control. This Epilepsy community in SETN has been so helpful, amazing, and supportive for my husband, son and I.
